Higher Forms of Art – our 8th year celebrating area high school artistsNEW! this year Higher Forms of Art runs for three weeks and is being presented in partnership with the University of Maine at Augusta and the Harlow Gallery, in the spirit of connecting and celebrating art, artists and community.

HOURS: noon -5pm Wednesday – Saturday

 

In celebration of Youth Art Month the Harlow Gallery / Kennebec Valley Art Association is presenting an exhibition of artwork by students from area high schools for the 8th consecutive year. New for 2014, Higher Forms of Art runs for three weeks and is being presented in partnership with the University of Maine at Augusta in the spirit of connecting and celebrating art, artists and community. Higher Forms of Art is on view in the 1st floor gallery space in UMA’s Gannett Building at 331 Water Street in downtown Augusta from March 14 to April 5, 2014.

 

Participating are Cony, Gardiner, Hall-Dale, Kents Hill, Maranancook, Monmouth and Richmond High Schools.

 

Higher Forms of Art gives emerging artists the opportunity to show their work in a professional space, and to get a taste of what goes into organizing a professional art exhibit. The students participate in hanging the exhibition and planning and organizing the opening night.
