2015 UMA
Juried Art
Student Show
April 13- May 1, 2015
Opening Reception
Sunday, April 26th 3-5pm
The UMA Danforth Gallery is currently displaying the juried artwork of UMA students from the art program at the Annual Student Art Show until May 1st.. There will be a reception and awards ceremony on Sunday, April 26th from 3:00pm – 5:00pm. The reception and exhibit are free and open to the public.
The work of each artist, which includes photography, printmaking, painting, drawing, sculpture, electronic arts, graphic novel, and other mixed media, was completed by students to fulfill class assignments throughout the past year. After careful consideration of each submission both in terms of technical execution and the ideas presented through the work, Honorary Jurors Deborah Fahy and Matt LeClair selected final pieces for the 2015 Juried Student Art Exhibition to reflect a broad range of media and topics while showcasing students at all stages in their academic development. They focused on work that was carefully crafted, thoughtfully developed and designed, and pieces that provoked a dialogue.
The UMA art program offers a bachelors degree in studio art with concentrations in drawing, painting, sculpture, graphic design, printmaking, electronic arts, and photography.
The Danforth Gallery is located in Jewett Hall on the UMA campus, it is open Monday through Thursday from 9am to 5pm, and on Fridays from 9am to 3pm.
